Since 1985, DriveSavers has set the standard in data recovery, combining cutting-edge technology with unmatched reliability. From preserving cherished memories to securing critical business information, our milestones showcase a legacy of innovation and trust.

Company Founded

Visionaries Scott Gaidano and Jay Hagan founded DriveSavers, a privately held company, in 1985 near the dawn of the personal computer. Understanding the value of digital data and the impact of its loss—whether critical business files or precious family photos—their mission was to maximize the chances of a successful data recovery while offering the ultimate customer service experience.

Strategic Partnership

In 1992, SuperMac Technology entrusted DriveSavers to assume technical support and warranty obligations for its mass storage products, marking the beginning of hundreds of successful collaborations with industry leading OEMs and manufacturers.

Expansion Through Merger

In 1994, DriveSavers, Inc. merged with Data Recovery/Disk Repair, Inc., retaining the DriveSavers, Inc. name while expanding its service capabilities.

In 1998, DriveSavers started acquiring letters of authorization from major device and computer manufacturers to open storage devices without voiding warranties. Today, all major device manufacturers refer their customers to DriveSavers. Our data recovery services will never void a manufacturer’s warranty. 

Alliance with Apple

In 1999, DriveSavers Data Recovery was recognized by Apple as a trusted data recovery provider, solidifying the company’s reputation for quality and reliability.

In 2002, DriveSavers engineering teams are split into Mac/Unix and PC Enterprise, improving service quality through focused technical expertise.

DriveSavers opened the Enterprise Lab in 2003 to meet the increasing demand for sophisticated RAID and large-scale complex data recoveries.

In 2008, DriveSavers invested $2 million to build the largest data recovery Certified ISO Class 5 Cleanrooms, which enhanced our ability to handle more delicate hard drive data recovery operations.

Advanced Capabilities: iPhone Data Recovery

In 2009, we launched the DriveSaverÂź App to educate users about hard drive data storage technology, best practices for protecting data, and data recovery solutions. Moving forward, the app now includes new technologies, including SSDs, smartphones, and a RAID calculator.

In 2010, DriveSavers broadened its capabilities to include cutting-edge SSD data recovery techniques as solid-state drive usage expands globally.

2010 DriveSavers continues enhancing data security and privacy measures, transitioning from SAS 70 to SOC 2 Type II certification to meet evolving industry standards, and maintains this certification moving forward.

In 2013, Scott Moyer took the helm as President after Co-founder and President Scott Gaidano passed away, ensuring leadership continuity and honoring Mr. Gaidano’s legacy.

40 Years of Excellence
